We are happy to announce that another article has been published by two of our BSC team. Well done, David and Brendan, and UPenn collaborators.
The article shows the effect of Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Positive Airway Pressure Therapy on cardiac remodeling in Nonobese and Obese Adults.
One of the novelties in this is study is the relation of NT-proBNP levels (N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide) and cardiac structure following positive airway pressure treatment in adults with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
The effects of positive airway pressure treatment on NT-proBNP and left atrium volume index were significantly modified by obesity. NT-proBNP decreased in nonobese participants with OSA and left atrial volume index was only increased in obese participants with OSA following positive airway pressure treatment.
