Greg Maislin, Founder & Principal Biostatistician

Greg Maislin founded Biomedical Statistical Consulting® (BSC®) in 1986 after completing graduate studies at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. With over 30 years of experience, he is an expert in statistical methodologies for medical device trials and FDA regulatory processes.

As Adjunct Professor of Statistics in Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, Greg directs the Biostatistics and Data Management Core for the Division of Sleep Medicine. He is internationally recognized for his contributions to biostatistics, particularly in sleep research.

Greg has authored over 200 publications and holds degrees in Economics, Operations Research, and Statistics. Outside of work, Greg enjoys time with his wife of 30+ years and their two sons, including David, who works alongside him at BSC®.

 

David Maislin, President and CEO

David Maislin joined Biomedical Statistical Consulting® (BSC®) in 2012 and now leads the company as President and CEO. In addition to managing day-to-day operations and strategic partnerships, David provides expert biostatistical support to clients throughout the FDA and regulatory submission process.

Specializing in innovative clinical trial designs, David has expertise in Bayesian adaptive designs, longitudinal data analysis, survival data, and advanced algorithm development. He is skilled in probabilistic programming and proficient in R, SAS, SQL, and high-performance cloud computing.

Since 2016, David has also contributed as a biostatistician at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, analyzing NIH-funded clinical trials and developing algorithms for personalized medicine. His co-authored work has been published in journals such as Sleep and Quantitative Imaging in Medicine and Surgery. David is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University.

 
 
 

Brendan Keenan, Associate Principal Biostatistician

Brendan Keenan has been a key member of Biomedical Statistical Consulting® (BSC®) since 2012, specializing in clinical trial design, statistical analysis plans, and advanced statistical programming. His expertise includes developing and implementing propensity score methods, which have been instrumental in numerous FDA and regulatory submissions, particularly in spine and orthopedic device trials.

Brendan also serves as Co-Director of the Biostatistics Core in the Division of Sleep Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. In this role, he oversees daily operations, collaborates on grant proposals, and supports ongoing research projects within the Division. He has extensive experience in academic research across various diseases, including sleep disorders, Alzheimer’s disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and multiple sclerosis.

With over 90 co-authored publications, Brendan’s contributions have advanced his understanding of sleep medicine and beyond. He holds a B.A. in Mathematics and Philosophy from Boston College and an M.S. in Biostatistics from the Harvard School of Public Health. Originally from Boston, Brendan resides in New Jersey with his wife and sons.

 

Dani Clovie, Vice President, Operations

Dani Clovie is a dynamic Program and Project Manager with extensive experience in the MedTech and Medicare compliance industries. Known for her versatility, Dani has successfully navigated roles in commercial operations and regulatory affairs, contributing expertise in documentation, training, reporting, customer support, and program management. She thrives on leading large-scale, cross-functional projects, building scalable systems, ensuring compliance, and streamlining processes to enhance organizational efficiency.

Before joining BSC®, Dani established a comprehensive project management framework for a global organization and oversaw project administration for regulatory, quality, and clinical strategic initiatives at another international company.

Dani holds a B.A. from Southern New Hampshire University and has earned certifications in Project Management and Leadership from Cornell University.

Based just north of Boston, Dani enjoys spending her free time with her husband and son.
